台灣新版護照

蔡英文總統再一次示範「實然主權」如何能無往而不利。

//我國現行護照的封面自 2003 年加註 「TAIWAN 」至今 17 年，已相當程度提升台灣辨識度，並獲 170 個國家及地區（如日本、美國、英國、加拿大及歐盟）給予免簽證、落地簽證或電子簽證待遇的便利措施。//

//新版護照的封面設計重點為︰
（一）變動最小，保留現行版本的元素及架構，包括中華民國、REPUBLIC OF CHINA、國徽、TAIWAN、護照、PASSPORT，以及顏色不變，主要仍是以凸顯台灣辨識度為原則。
（二）放大「TAIWAN」字樣並將「TAIWAN」 及「PASSPORT」字樣緊鄰，強調為「台灣的護照」，清楚且容易辨別。
（三）登載中、英文正式國名，並將英文正式國名 「REPUBLIC OF CHINA」環繞於國徽外圈，維持尊崇性，更增添設計感。//

蔡英文︰台灣已經是一個獨立的國家，沒有需要特別宣稱自己獨立 Tsai Ing-wen: Taiwan is already an independent country and needs not declare ourselves an independent state

「蔡英文以英語接受訪問，表示台灣已經是一個獨立的國家，因此沒有需要特別宣稱自己獨立，又指情況已經改變，一國概念設定的台灣模糊地位，已不再可以達到原先設下的目的。」

"We don't have a need to declare ourselves an independent state," Tsai said.  "We are an independent country already and we call ourselves the Republic of China, Taiwan.  We have a separate identity and we're a country of our own.  We're a successful democracy, we have a pretty decent economy, we deserve respect from China."

香港與台灣，在自治上的分別，就只差雙普選。由普選確立的實然主權就是實然獨立。同一方法，放在香港也適用。香港有了雙普選，就可以說同一番話。

The only difference between Hong Kong and Taiwan in terms of autonomy is universal suffrage.  De-facto autonomy established from universal suffrage is de-factor independence.  The same principle applies to Hong Kong.  We can say the same words as President Tsai when we have universal suffrage.
