記者：林鄭你會否向因為想買口罩而要通宵排隊的市民道歉？

Some members of the public panick because they are not certain about the availability of masks in the market or become anxious when they have no masks to put on. That has led them to line up early in the morning at stores which they know might have masks to sell. We should be highly concerned about this. This is also the reason why the government has been putting a lot of effort in trying to increase the availability of masks in the market and in the society. Edward Yau has in fact reminded retailers through Hong Kong Retail Management Association to give deeper thoughts next time as to how to promote and how to sell their masks if they only have a limited number of masks in hand. Hopefully, we won't be seeing again the situation you've described.

Train一個警察，只需幾個月。投考警察只須５科合格，兼體能合格，學歷要求不高，所以毅進畢業就可以。
Train一位護士，起碼需要４年時間。既要實習，又要熟讀很多理論。
Train一位化驗師、放射治療師或物理治療師之類的醫護專業人員，需要４年以上。同樣需要很長的實習期，理論亦不容易。要考進這類醫護專業課程，豈止５科合格？DSE起碼幾個「5」，A-Level起碼幾個「C」。毅進仔以往在會考已經被踢走，哪能升讀A-Level？
Train一位醫生，普通科需要５-６年，專科起碼１０年。讀醫的，統統是尖子，精英中的精英。
結果一句「止暴制亂」，警察坐享無限行政資源，OT無限補水，個個full gear上陣，每隔一陣子就得到新玩具。醫護即使緊守崗位，任勞任怨，OT沒補足，公立醫院沒有一天不超負荷，但仍要削減資源。一個口罩、一件PPE，都要珍而重之，因為不只醫護同工要穿，病人也要穿。醫護就算沒有N95，沒有ASTM-Level 2口罩，也要頂硬上。
半年社運，無一警員殉職，重傷也沒有一個；但一場蓄勢待發的瘟疫，可能一夜奪去數十或數百前線醫護性命。

To train up a cop, you need a few months. Anyone passing 5 subjects at school and a physical test can be recruited. Not much on academic requirements, a mere Yi Jin Diploma would do.
To train up a nurse, you need at least 4 years of studies coupled with placement.
To train up a chemist, a radiotherapist, a physiotherapist or any medical professionals, you also need at least 4 years, involving extended placement periods and the ability to become well versed in complicated medical knowlege. You need a lot more than 5 passes to get into one of these training programmes: at least a few "5"s in DSE or some "C"s in HKALE. In contrast, those doing the Yi Jin Diploma programme are the ones who couldn't even get 5 passes in HKCEE. The A-Level means the Absolutely-unfathomable-Level to them.
To train up a medical doctor, you need 5-6 years for a General Practitioner, 10 for a Specialist. Those studying medicine are all top scorers, the cream of the crop.
Now, with one slogan from the government ("Stop Violence and Curb Disorder"), the Police Force enjoys endless administrative resources, unlimited overtime pay, full gear for every officer on the street and new toys every other month. Conversely, the medical professionals save lives under high tension every day, bear unpaid overtime work every month and fight against the ticking clock in public hospitals (which are always over full capacity) every minute, only to see their resources cut by the government. Every mask and every piece of PPE comes as a precious gem. Not only the medical staff needs it, the patients also need it. But even without N95 masks, even without ASTM-Level 2 masks, the medical professionals still have to march into the dangerous zones that could cost them lives.
Six months of social unrest cost no lives in the Police Force - not even one case of serious injury. But the looming plague could cost tens or hundreds of frontline medical staffers.
Just when the head of Junior Police Officers Association can insult in public his superiors in the disciplinary force and face no consequences, our medical professionals get emotionally blackmailed and get blamed for "not doing their job" when they want to start a work strike in protest against an unfair government policy that could cost their lives for political reasons.
Even if all the police officers resign together, the Police Force can easily find enough men for replacement in just a few months through extensive recruitment and training. How long will it take to train up the same replacement if a veteran medical professional dies at work? It takes years even to train up the least experienced medical practitioners.
How can you not fight back when the society has become this ridiculous?

科學實證推斷，病毒並非由野味傳起，那麼原爆點來自何方？

武漢封城，各國反應 HK vs Other Countries in Response to Wuhan Pneumonia
1月23日，年廿九，清晨出消息宣佈封鎖武漢，上午10時正式封城。

英國︰希斯路機場設立隔離區，所有來自武漢之旅客須送往隔離區作健康檢查。

Britain: A separate, isolated area is set up in Terminal 4 for passengers arriving into Heathrow airport from Wuhan.
Japan: Announcements have to be made on all flights from China to call for spontaneous declaration from passengers feeling unwell. All passengers flying from Wuhan are required to fill in health forms.
Taiwan: Coordination work is underway to cancel all package tours from Wuhan to Taiwan.
Singapore: All passengers flying from Wuhan have to undergo temperature screening at Changi Airport.

泛民2010年支持高鐵撥款，2020年高鐵輸入首宗武漢肺炎 1st Wuhan Pneumonia Case Imported to HK in 2020 by Express Rail, the Bill of Which Passed by Pan-dems in 2010
2020年1月22日，年廿八，洗邋遢，但香港出現首宗武漢肺炎確診個案，由高鐵入境。
22 January 2020 is a day for massive cleaning in the lunar calendar, but we have the first confirmed Wuhan pneumonia case in Hong Kong, thanks to the Express Rail Link.

當時財務委員會主席，訂立1月16日為表決死線，不允許延長會議；同時逐步限制議員發言（由四分鐘到三分鐘，最後限在兩分鐘），並否決社民連議員提出的逾卅項動議修訂。
The chairperson of the Finance Committee set January 16 as the voting deadline, refused to extend the meeting time and, at the same time, reduced legislators' speaking time (from 4 minutes to 3 and then to 2 minutes) and rejected over 30 motions proposed by legislators of the League of Social Democrats.

It was her who cut short a filibuster to pass an appropriation bill of HK$69.9 billion. The next day, Apple Daily made preferential defence for the pan-democrats by titling the news as "Emily Lau Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place for Being Impartial" when her autocratic way of forcing a vote was what caused the passing of the bill of the detrimental Express Rail Link project.

The next day, Apple Daily helped explain this away by preferentially titling the news as "Helpless Pan-dems Giving Up Filibuster in the Face of Doomed Outcome", defending the pan-democrats and painting them as dejected and helpless fighters.

As recalled by one of the protest organiser Tse Kwun-tong, a lot of questions had been prepared but none were seen raised during the LegoCo meeting. The Pan-dem lawmakers were not exactly active in waiting for their round of speech, either.

Told long and repeatedly enough, the public would identify with the story of grievance and fall into the same dejected state where they would only blame the dysfunctional Functional Constituencies for putting the pan-dems in insurmountable scenarios and would continue to vote for the pan-dems with unwilling tears in their eyes and some 'Oh alas, poor us!'

On 4 June 2008, the Public Works Committee held a meeting to approve the preliminary research funding for the design and site investigation of the Hong Kong section of the Express Rail Link, for a sum of over 2 billion. The funding covered the design and planning for the West Kowloon Terminus, research for the route the railway would take, and even the approval for using Chinese-made trains! At the time, Chief Executive Donald Tsang had already made the announcement in China that he would overthrow an earlier resolution by the Executive Council, as he had decided to give up on the idea of having the Express Rail share the same track with West Rail and would instead push for a dedicated track for the Express Rail. This implied that Chinese-made high-speed rail carriages would be procured. Yet, none of the legislators at the meeting raised any questions or objection.
最後，高鐵的前期研究經費廿幾億，會議紀錄只有短短六頁，即輕鬆通過。反對的只有社民連陳偉業一票。支持撥款的，除一眾建制議員，還有公民黨梁家傑、民主黨鄭家富議員。當時鄭家富發言清楚說出，「民主黨支持高速鐵路工程 。」
還有一人投下贊成票 － 就是劉慧卿。
Lastly, the minutes of the meeting, during which a $2 billion bill was passed without a hitch, were only 6 pages long. The only lawmaker who opposed the funding was Albert Chan Wai-yip of the League of Social Democrats. Those in support of the appropriation bill, aside from those in the pro-establishment camp, included Alan Leong Kah-kit of the Civic Party and Andrew Cheng Kar-foo of the Democratic Party. Andrew Cheng even made it clear in his speech: "The Democratic Party supports the construction of the Express Rail Link."
Another person who also voted in favour of the bill was Emily Lau.

At the time, Chief Executive Donald Tsang had already made the announcement in China that he would overthrow an earlier resolution by the Executive Council, as he had decided to give up on the idea of having the Express Rail share the same track with West Rail and would instead push for a dedicated track for the Express Rail. This implied that Chinese-made high-speed rail carriages would be procured. Yet, none of the legislators at the meeting raised any questions or objection.

「蔡英文以英語接受訪問，表示台灣已經是一個獨立的國家，因此沒有需要特別宣稱自己獨立，又指情況已經改變，一國概念設定的台灣模糊地位，已不再可以達到原先設下的目的。」
"We don't have a need to declare ourselves an independent state," Tsai said. "We are an independent country already and we call ourselves the Republic of China, Taiwan. We have a separate identity and we're a country of our own. We're a successful democracy, we have a pretty decent economy, we deserve respect from China."

The only difference between Hong Kong and Taiwan in terms of autonomy is universal suffrage. De-facto autonomy established from universal suffrage is de-factor independence. The same principle applies to Hong Kong. We can say the same words as President Tsai when we have universal suffrage.

被世界遺棄不可怕 Giving Up On the World or Being Given Up by the World
上網購物、售賣物品、找贖飯錢，總要自嘲一番，說自己來自石器時代，被世界遺棄。不過，心裡很清楚，其實是我遺棄了世界。

逐步扭轉無罪推定觀念 Presumption of Innocence?
堂堂執法部門，長時期就網上言論發聲明澄清，日積月累，只會塑造出「無辜者有責任自辯」的文化，逐步扭轉社會固有「無罪推定」的觀念。更甚者，藉詞澄清，實質撒謊，只會令社會習慣「自辯者總在撒謊」。久而久之，普通法觀念與社會文化脫節，離推行大陸法的子不遠已。
C'mon, why bother clarifying when you are the law enforcing department? When you keep clarifying for yourself for any accusations online, you are honestly trying to shape a culture in which the accused is expected to have the responsibility to prove himself innocent. Worse still, your so called "clarifications" are, more often than not, blatant lies in broad daylight. The public would only get used to not trusting anyone who defends for himself.
Given long enough time, the society would only go further and further away from the common law. With a culture shaped, it would be a breeze to adopt the civil law.

因為「自決」而不能入閘，於是把組織宗旨改為「推動香港的民主與進步價值」。其實跟政府的語言偽術沒兩樣。
不要忘記，民建聯全名「民主建港聯盟」，也有「民主」二字。
